The MCQ Guitar Pathway
Twenty-two printable books that take you from never having held a guitar to improvising over whole songs, one step at a time. Written by James the way a Nashville session player would teach you: groove first, every exercise turned into music, and nothing skipped.

I'd recommend starting from the beginning, as there are things you may miss. But if you're a seasoned guitar player, you can skip over a lot of the books and find the ones that interest you most. Tap any book to see what's in it and buy it.
The whole Pathway, 314 pages, from first chords to mastery. Download every book now, or one at a time as you get to it: the link keeps working.
Already have Books 1 and 2 free from your trial or weekly lessons? Get the rest of the Pathway without paying for them twice.
If there are two things that separate a player who strums chords from a player who sounds like a record, they're triads and double stops. So the Pathway doesn't leave them to one chapter. You meet your first double stops in Book 5 and your first triads in Book 6. Books 11 and 12 show you every shape and how to use it, and every style book shows you how its players use them. Then the tests make sure they stick.

Every book starts with a riff or progression that sounds like a song straight away, so you're making music before you study anything.
Every section ends by turning the exercise into music: over a recording, with a song, or as your own part.
Pick grip, picking direction, muting and posture are woven into the exercises, where they matter, not in a dull chapter of their own.
Each book lists songs by the most respected players in each style, chosen because they use what that book teaches.
Week by week, so you always know what to practise. It's a guide, not a deadline.
A play-it checklist and a short quiz. Pass it and you're ready for the next book. Bring it to a lesson and James will sign it off.
Everyone does these, in order.
For every player, whatever style you choose.
Pick the three that suit the music you love. Get more if you like.
Brings it all together, for everyone.
Book a trial guitar lesson and Book 1 comes free with your booking confirmation.

Reserve your time →I started with James over two years ago with no guitar experience and have been having weekly lessons ever since. James explains music theory in a way I can actually understand, and if something doesn't click, he'll try different examples until it makes sense.
I've been taking lessons from James for about 18 months. In that time my understanding of music has grown enormously. … James has a knack for making the complicated simple … I highly recommend James to anyone looking to take their playing to the next level.
As long as you want. It depends only on how much you practise. Each book has a suggested week-by-week plan, but you move on whenever you pass the test, not when the calendar says so.

I'd recommend starting from the beginning, as there are things you may miss. But if you're a seasoned guitar player, you can skip over a lot of the books and go straight to the ones that interest you most. The test at the back of each book shows you what it covers. Not sure? A trial lesson sorts it out in ten minutes.

Either. The core works on both, Book 3 covers electric guitar and amp basics, and the style books tell you what tone to aim for.
